I’ve been doing some weird stuff lately. Maybe it’s because I’m stressed about all things that need to be arranged before my journey. To exemplify, here’s a short story from last week:
It was Wednesday. I’d been shooting a couple of Swedish celebrity artists at work, after which I had a grab’n'go lunch and left for another photo job about an hour outside Stockholm. As we – me and my colleague – got back home later that afternoon, I was hungry as a bungry. However, I decided to make a short stop at the gym first and get some Thai food to go afterwards. My fridge was empty too, so grocery store -> gym -> back home for dinner was the plan.
I stopped by at the local ICA grocery store, picked up some food and hygiene articles, got to the counter, payed with a 500 crowns bill, got the change, smiled and said ‘Thank you‘. All good that far. Then I did my 45 minute workout, got the Thai food (Bee’s Thaifood on Kungsholmen, lots of food for no money at all – love it!), and hurried home. Ate my delicious Thai dinner, took a shower and sat down with by my mac to edit some pictures. Then I realized I had forgot to put food I bought in the fridge. Got up to do that right away.
BUT HEY! Where are the grocery bags?!?
NOOOOOOOOO. I left it all at the store. Didn’t even pack it in a bag. I just payed, smiled and walked out. Jeeeeeeez. It was late already, the store was closed and I didn’t even have a receipt. I could do nothing but laugh. Ain’t that well spent money!?!
So what does this teach us (me)? Don’t leave your brain at home. And don’t stress. And don’t pay and leave what you bought at the store, stupid! (I punished myself by working to midnight that evening.)
