Prices update

Cole and I decided to start 2010 with some serious Nordica Photography thinking.

One thing that we’ve been bouncing back and forth for quite a while is our prices. We’ve felt that they’ve been too complicated. So we decided to do something about it. Some pretty major changes. Changes that we believe will make it better both for us and for our clients.

Instead of offering packages where we tell clients what to buy, we’re approaching it the other way around. We have one starting price and you can decide if and what add-ons you’d like to have. You choose, not us. Simpler for us, simpler for you - a win-win.

And since we no longer offer different packages, we don’t offer different time coverages either. Meaning we’re not counting hours anymore. If you want us to cover 6 hours of your wedding, that’s fine. If you want us to cover the whole day, from 8pm to midnight e.g., that’s fine. We’ll be there for as long as you want us to. And as usual, you’re getting two photographers to make sure that every moment of the wedding day is captured.

These changes will not affect clients who already booked us with the prior price list.

Weekend in Whistler

As you probably know already, Cole and I spent last weekend in Whistler photographing and blogging in the VIP Lounge at Whistler Film Festival. It was a great weekend in many ways. Thanks again Gabrielle Durning for inviting us!

Whistler Film Festival 2009

We’ve got quite a few exciting things coming up the coming days, weeks and months. And with yesterday’s launch of the new brand – Nordica Photography – and the new website, things are totally going in the right direction.
Both Cole and I will travel across the ocean and spend the holidays with family and friends in Sweden and Finland. And get a lot of Nordic(a) energy for the coming year, which will be needed ’cause I think it’s going to be a busy one!

Anyway, there’s still some very exciting stuff coming up before we’re leaving. This Friday for example (December 4th) Cole and I are attending the Whistler Film Festival. We’re there as photographers and bloggers, so we’ll be taking lots and lots of pictures. The blogging and the pictures will be on the Nordica Photography blog so be sure to stop by there on Friday.
And we’ll be tweeting all day long as well (@allan_cole and @jakobg).

We were invited by Gabrielle Durning (@GabrieleDurning), owner of the Uptown Giftbox Company, who’s hosting the VIP-room at the festival. So that’s we’re we’ll be, in the VIP-room. Sounds fancy, eh? :)

I’m really excited about this, both because we’ll get to hang out with a bunch of cool movie-people and get some rad pictures of them, but also because I’ll get to see Whistler for the first time. So thanks a million Gabrielle for inviting us to this cool event!

Nordica Photography | Wedding and People Photography in Vancouver

Big announcement today - Cole and I are finally finished (or as finished as you can ever be on a website launch) creating our new brand and website – Nordica Photography.

If you follow our sites then you likely know that we work together on photography projects. However, being ‘separate entities’ with two different sites may be confusing, so we put our heads together and created Nordica.

Basically, the site will be the red line through our work (that’s a Swedish metaphor – we’re not going to start crossing lines through our stuff). So, if you book us, you’re booking Nordica.

Cole and I will both be keeping our own sites though, so nothing really changes. We’ll have the Nordica site as a portfolio of sorts for our upcoming work, and we’ll have a combined blog there too. For example, on this Friday’s Whistler Film Festival we’re doing live blogging, and the Nordica site will be where we put everything so viewers aren’t bouncing around between sites.

So! That’s it! Check out the Nordica site folks, and please let us know what you think and/or if something isn’t working the way it should!

We needed a couple of pictures for the bio section too, so we took a few during a five minute whirl-wind tour through a couple allies.

So – as promised – here’s a short behind-the-scenes video from our product photo session last weekend. We had tons of fun shooting those fancy duvets from Silk Concept. (Note: even though we are extremely talented in many areas, we‘re not claiming to be video editors. So please have patience with the quality.) ;-)

As mentioned Cole and I did a product photo shoot for Silk Concept the other day. Silk Concept makes high-end silk duvets, and man were they ever soft. If only we could have kept them, they would probably make our beauty sleep twice as good.
