Celebration of Light is going on downtown Vancouver. Last night it was Mexico’s turn and they put on one heck of a show. Something for China to beat when they are up on Saturday.

This is why this blog is somewhat slow at the moment. Well, we’re not actually eating, drinking, playing and connecting as much as we’re doing photography, but the rest of the people at the Vancouver Convention Centre are. The WEC2010 is currently held there and it’s huge.

Cole and I are working 24/7, thus the lack of updates. Stay tuned for some Mexicana pics shortly though.

Two engagement sessions and a wedding done in The Interior. Home in Vancouver for some ten hours. Then flying out to Cancun to rock another couple of days of engagement and wedding photography. ¡Hola!

On Monday Cole and I are catching a plane to Mexico to do a wedding. Can’t wait.

Right now we’re on a wedding and engagement photography mission around BC. And it’s not bad here either.

Being two photographers is a huge advantage. For lots of reasons. Sometimes, however, we’re sorta in each other’s way. Meaning I end up in Cole’s pictures and him in mine.

Here’s Cole creeping around while I was trying to find the perfect composition of Adam and Lisa last night.

And here I am in one of Cole’s pictures.

We got some great stuff with Adam and Lisa though. Check out a couple of frames on the Nordica site. Lots more is coming.

West Vancouver Engagement Photos

Is it easier to take pictures of someone you know or of complete strangers? That’s a question I’ve been asked many times.

And I always answer that I don’t know. That it depends on the couple, the situation and the chemistry.

But thinking more about it, I’d have to choose the prior. Even though it sometimes may be a bit awkward at first, it’s easier and more comfortable if you have some sort of relation with the people on the other side of the lens. That’s also a reason why we (as in Nordica) always try to meet and chat with couples before shoots. And why we prefer doing engagement shoots before weddings. To build that relation.

This one didn’t need much relationship building though. These are two of my best friends from back home, and Cole and I did an engagement shoot (they got engaged on a paradise island just before flying in to Canada) with them as they were visiting Vancouver on their trip around the world.
